Bakers Delight | Pink Bun Fundraiser 2015

| NEWS

This year, Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) and Bakers Delight celebrate 15 years of working together to support Australians affected by breast cancer.

From Monday 11 May - Wednesday 3 June 2015 over 600 Bakers Delight bakeries will join forces to help raise $1.5 million for Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) in this year’s Pink Bun campaign.

Each May during the annual ‘Pink Bun’ campaign, all Bakers Delight bakeries donate 100% of the sale of Pink Finger Buns which raises more than $1m each year for BCNA.

BCNA and Bakers Delight are celebrating 15 years of working together to support Australians affected by breast cancer. In 2015, the partnership will also reach an impressive milestone with Bakers Delight having donated a total of $15 million worth of funds and pro-bono services to BCNA.

Money raised by the Pink Bun campaign supports essential BCNA services, including the creation of the My Journey Kit, an information pack provided to people newly diagnosed with breast cancer. More than 12,000 My Journey Kits are provided annually, and last year over 84 per cent of newly diagnosed Australian women received a kit free of charge.

The long standing partnership between the two networks began 15 years ago with a chance conversation, when Bakers Delight husband-and-wife CEOs Roger and Lesley Gillespie heard BCNA founder Lyn Swinburne speaking about her vision to grow a national network for women with breast cancer.
Since then, the partnership has grown significantly and the two organisations continue to share the same building. BCNA is now Australia's leading breast cancer consumer organisation, with more than 40 staff working to support over 100,000 members throughout Australia.
