to | NEWS

The Tasty Pear is full to the brim with local handmade goodness this year as they welcomed three NEW talented artists to the floor. All offering an impressive and diverse range of home and gift wares that range from modern industrial furniture, eco-embroidery to delicately hand poured soy candles. Take a read and get to know your local artist!

Artist Name: Danielle Matthews
Brand: Ruby Sew Oh
Embroidery hoop art

Danielle is a part-time environmental planner, mother of two young girls, and enjoys sewing and embroidery in her spare time. As a mother of two she found it hard juggling large projects with her little ones around, so for the past year and a half she has been focusing on embroidery hoop art and it’s clear her flair in pattern mixture and quirky jewellery designer is just what the embroidery world needed. Taking drab embroidery to much trendier heights!

Artist Name: Marissa Siwinski
Brand: Fred & Myrtle
Western Australian inspired soy candles

Marissa lives in the northern suburbs with her husband and two miniature schnauzers, they all enjoy relaxing bush walks, sunsets along the beach and sharing stories at the dinner table with family and friends. Fred & Myrtle candles are individually poured in Perth, Western Australia, using natural soy wax and fragrance oils combined to reflect the iconic beauty of Western Australia. The candles feature a wood wick, which gently crackles as the candle burns.

Artist Name: Shannon
Brand: Industriale
Modern industrial furniture

Shannon, the creative mind behind Industriale loves salvage yards, junk shops, and treasure hunts. When she was a kid she wanted to be a brick layer, but somehow ended up in grad school studying philosophy. Shannon’s love for vintage is never-ending, she holds on to treasures she finds waiting as long as she needs to until ideas spark for new projects. Every one of her pieces is a one-off, owing to the use of recycled industrial materials.
